Recently described in 2022, Anthurium wellingae is one of the most exciting velvet-leaf Anthuriums to enter cultivation. Native to Zamora-Chinchipe, Ecuador, where it grows around 2000 meters elevation in cool, misty cloud forests, this species combines rarity, elegance, and collector prestige.

Its foliage is narrowly sagittate (triangular-elongated) with a matte dark green surface and striking pale venation. New leaves emerge with subtle bronze undertones and mature into dramatic velvet blades up to 35 cm long. Unlike many of its relatives in section Belolonchium, the cataphylls of wellingae persist intact, adding to its distinct identity.

The exact plant in the photos is what you will receive. Each specimen has been carefully grown under high humidity, acclimated in premium aroid substrate, and is shipped with secure, insulated packaging.

Your order also includes a printable PDF care guide and a bonus audio file with collector-focused tips covering substrate, humidity, lighting, and long-term care to help this rare species thrive.
